CHAD HOWE

Assistant Professor of Spanish
Ph.D., Ohio State University

Chad Howe comes to UGA from Ohio State University where he recently completed his dissertation entitled "Cross-dialectal Features of the Spanish Present Perfect: A Typological Analysis of Form and Function." Prof. Howe's research concerns the interplay between meaning and context and their expression in the tense/aspect systems of Spanish and Portuguese. Among his current projects is an analysis of the factors contributing to the convergence of verbal features in the language of monolinguals and bilinguals in the Andean region of South America, primarily in situations of extended linguistic contact between Spanish and Quechua.
