Fuad Elhage, Lecturer, awarded for his Diversity Through Dance Workshop

Fuad Elhage, a lecturer of Spanish for the professions in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, was recognized for his “Diversity through Dance” workshop, a class offered for the Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion. Learning and Development and the Equal Opportunity Office were recognized for their partnership with Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion courses.

Students can receive 3 hours credit taking his semester long SPAN 4080 Diversity Through Dance course. Read more about the course

French + Portuguese Movie Night

On Wednesday, November 16th from 5-7pm, Fala Aí, the magazine of the Portuguese department at UGA,  will sponsor a French + Portuguese film night in Gilbert Hall room 118. The movie being shown is "La Cage Dorée" or "The Gilded Cage", which is a French-language comedy about the lives of Portuguese immigrants living in France. It will be subtitled in English. Light refreshments will be served, and there will be a discussion in English after the film. 

"Palabra de poeta": A Conversation on Selected Poems by César Vallejo

Discussion moderated by Dr. Jorge García-Granados, UGA Department of Romance Languages (hybrid format)

Trilce, by César Vallejo, was released in October of 1922, a century ago. It was a poetic work without precedent in Spanish. This conversation will feature Dr. Carlos Villacorta, Associate Professor Spanish and Chair of Modern Languages and Classics, University of Maine (via Zoom) and our own Dr. Luis Correa Díaz and Dr. Nicolás Lucero (in 116 Gilbert Hall). They will share some of their impressions of César Vallejo’s poetry.

Interdepartmental Kickball Game

The ROML GSO is inviting you to participate to a friendly interdepartmental kickball game against the Linguistics GSO. Join us Saturday 22nd at 11am. The event will take place near Ramsey at one of the recreational fields. I am still waiting on which one it'll be but, I'll keep you updated by email.
