Teaching Assistant of Spanish

¡Hola!

Born in Madrid (Spain), I am a third year Ph.D. student in the Hispanic Linguistics program. During Spring '23 semester, I will be teaching one sections of SPAN 2001, and I will serve as the Writing Intensive Program TA for the Latin American Cinema Class (SPAN 4082) with Dr.Kaplan.

In the last 4 years, I taught SPAN 1002E, SPAN 1110, SPAN 1110E, SPAN 2001, and SPAN 2002. I also served as a TA for SPAN 4090 (Service Learning), and SPAN 4082 (Latin American Cinema).

Besides teaching regular classes, I also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant with Dr.Quesada and Dr.Blackwell during 2020-2021. During 2023, I will be one of the 15 UGA Grad students of the Future Faculty Fellowship Program, and I will coordinate the Study Abroad program UGA in Valencia during the summer. 

My current research interests include, but are not limited to, Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, and Heritage Speakers. 

 

Of note:

Besides my studies, I am part of the organizing committee of the Spanish short film festival "España en corto". I also help to organize the Women's Forum series, that champions female voices in academia.

Education:

In Spring 2020 I finished my Masters in Hispanic Linguistics at the University of Georgia with a minor in Cinema. 

In 2014, I graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (Spain) earning a B.A in Translation & Interpreting of English, Portuguese & Spanish. 

In 2009, I graduated from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) earning a Licenciatura in Advertising and Public Relations.
