Spanish For Health Professions

Can these courses help me complete my foreign language requirement?

Although SPAN 1003 and SPAN 2000 do not count toward the Franklin College foreign language requirement, they can help you make progress toward it! For example, after earning credit for SPAN 1001 or 1110 through the Spanish Placement Test, you could take SPAN 1003 to strengthen your skills, then retake the test and potentially place out of SPAN 2001.

Build the Spanish communication skills and cultural understanding that can help you provide excellent patient care. Ask advisors about service-learning placements in the Athens community, medical simulation events, and research opportunities. Explore additional language and culture courses in US Latinx studies, dialectology and language variation, Latin American film, and diversity through dance. Small classes offer opportunities to connect with faculty and receive personalized guidance.
