The UGA Italian Language and Culture in Rome program combines four weeks of intensive Italian language training with immersive cultural education in one of the world's most historically significant cities. This faculty-directed experience places students with Italian host families while they pursue daily language coursework differentiated by proficiency level and participate in faculty-guided explorations of Roman art, architecture, history, and contemporary society. UGA Add-on summer internship in rome,italy Students will participate in a Project-Based Internship that pairs a small, interdisciplinary team of students with a Rome host organization to address a real organizational challenge while developing their Italian language proficiency and cultural competency. Rather than shadowing, students brainstorm, prototype, and test ideas to produce feasible, viable, and sustainable solutions. Potential sectors include: Humanities (Art History, Italian); Museum Studies; Media Studies; Pre-Health, Public Health, International Affairs, Political Science, International Business, Marketing. The internship is unpaid, but students will enroll in ITAL 4090: Internship in Italy (3 credits) during the 4-week internship program. This course counts towards all Italian Studies programs (Minor in Italian; Italian Studies major (BA Romance Languages). The program meets UGA's experiential learning requirement.
