Dr. Pizzuti has been working at the University of Georgia since 2001, after teaching at other universities in the United States. She teaches language and culture courses from beginning to advanced and coordinates a thriving Italian language program at the beginning and intermediate level.

She has graduate degrees in Italian from Harvard (Ph.D) and the University of Pittsburgh (M.A.), and a Laurea in Modern Foreign Languages from the University of Calabria (Italy).

Her interests include Italian Language Pedagogy; Content Based Language Instruction;  the South in Literature and Film; Twentieth Century Italian Literature.
