Elliana is a first-year PhD candidate whose research focuses on feminist literature from the Lusophone world. She holds a BA in Portuguese and an MA in Portuguese Literature from Brigham Young University, where her graduate work centered on feminist authors from Portugal and Cape Verde. Her research has taken her to archives in Spain and Portugal, and she is broadly interested in feminist writing across Lusophone countries and the ways these literary traditions speak to one another.

Elliana hopes to pursue a career in academia, ultimately becoming a professor who introduces students to Lusophone feminist writers and champions the importance of reading and recognizing women's stories.
