Lecturer of Italian
Jeff Kilpatrick is a Lecturer of Italian in the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Georgia. He teaches Beginning and Intermediate Italian, both in traditional and online formats, and contributes to the ongoing development of digital learning resources for the program. His teaching philosophy centers on communicative competence, inclusion, and the integration of technology to enhance student engagement and linguistic confidence.
 
Dr. Kilpatrick regularly participates in and organizes extracurricular cultural activities, such as the Italian Conversation Table and UGA’s Bocce Tournament, to foster community and cultural connection among language learners. As Faculty Liaison for the Italian Program with the Division of Academic Enhancement, he works to align instructional practices with student-success initiatives across campus.
 
His professional interests include second-language acquisition, instructional technology, and self-efficacy in language learning. His research has appeared in EDeR: Educational Design Research and the Journal of Language and Literacy Education, and he has presented at conferences such as the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and the American Association for Applied Linguistics.
