PhD Candidate, Hispanic Studies

Timeko McFadden is a doctoral candidate in Hispanic Studies in the Romance Languages Department. She earned a double BA from Converse College in Spanish and Religion and completed her MA in Spanish at UGA.  She teaches Spanish language courses as well as SPAN 2550: Introduction to Latino Literature. She also has served as a writing coach for the Writing Intensive Program and is a member of the editorial board forThe Classic Journal. A graduate of the Institute for Women’s Studies program, her research interests include the performance of latinidad in the South, Latinx women’s culinary writing and food ways in literature. In IWS, Timeko serves as an instructor for WMST 1110: Multicultural Perspectives on Women In The United States.
