Master's Student, Portuguese, Teaching Assistant of Portuguese

Yasmin Paiva de Siqueira is originally from São Paulo, Brazil. She holds a Bachelor's and License Degree in Language and Literature (Portuguese and English) from the University of São Paulo (USP). 

Currently, she is a first year Master's student in the Portuguese Program in the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Georgia. Moreover, she is also a Teaching Assistant of Portuguese in the aforementioned department.

Prior to that, she was granted a Fulbright scholarship and worked as a Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) of Portuguese at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, during the 2023-2024 academic year. 

With over 12 years of classroom experience as an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teacher, she has taught groups of all ages - from kindergartens to adults, both in-person and online. 

Moreover, she is also certified by the Anaheim University (California), for having taken the following teaching courses: “TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)” and “TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners)”.

Her current research interests include: Literature, Women's writings, Cinema and Education
