The Department of Romance Languages is proud to celebrate five of our students and recent alumni who have been offered Fulbright awards for the 2025–2026 academic year. Their achievements contribute to the University of Georgia’s recognition as a top‑producing institution for Fulbright U.S. students for the fourth consecutive year.

Eleven UGA students received Fulbright offers this cycle, with five able to accept. Of these awardees, five—Mark Adams (French), Madison Fulton (Spanish), Jacqueline GaNun (French), Saanvikha Saravanan (Spanish), and Anna Whaley (Spanish)—are Romance Languages students or graduates whose academic dedication and global engagement have earned them international teaching placements.

These ROML Fulbright recipients will serve as English Teaching Assistants in Morocco, Uzbekistan, and Spain, representing UGA and the Department of Romance Languages as cultural ambassadors abroad. Their work will help foster cross‑cultural understanding while allowing them to deepen their linguistic and international expertise.

Maria de Rocher, UGA’s Fulbright U.S. Student Program Advisor, emphasized the significance of the awards, noting that the students’ diverse interests and commitment to global education strengthen UGA’s impact on the international stage.

The department congratulates these outstanding students for their accomplishments and looks forward to seeing the meaningful contributions they will make in their host communities.
