French and Portuguese Movie Night

Join us for a screening of A gaiola dourada (The Gilded Cage) on August 27th. This film follows the lives of a hardworking Portuguese family living in France.  Very charming, the story beautifully blends culture, comedy, and family dynamics, offering both laughs and a thoughtful look at the immigrant experience.

The film will be shown with English subtitles. Everyone is welcome!

Watch Student Performance - Spring 2025

Fuad Elhage, Senior Lecturer of Spanish at UGA, has taught Diversity Through Dance, a course that blends Spanish language and culture with music and dance since 2010. In the past two semesters, a new class, SPAN 4030S has added a service-learning component. Through a partnership with the Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA), students not only learn dances like salsa, bachata, and merengue but also teach them to older adults, including members of the Dementia Resource Center.
