Nahuatl Study Group Chocolotl, tomatl, coyotl. Do you recognize these words? That´s right, we get "chocolate," "tomato," "coyote," and many other words from Nahuatl, the language of the Aztec empire that is still spoken by about 2 million people. Join the Náhuatl Study Group for our first weekly meeting this Wednesday, September 9 at 4:15 pm in Gilbert Hall room 309. Romance Linguistics Colloquium by Fenton Gardner Fenton Gardner will present his paper "Double Trouble: Why clitic-doubling of strong pronouns is obligatory in Romance". The presentation will start at 3:00pm, and will last 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion. Brief abstract will be forthcoming.
