Textual Machines: A Spring Symposium and Exhibit Textual Machines is an international symposium exploring literary objects that produce texts through the material interaction with mechanical devices or procedures. We define “textual machines” as a perspective on literature and book objects where text is “a mechanical device for the production and consumption of verbal signs” (Espen J. Aarseth). Romance Languages Instructor Fuad Elhage Participates in Dancing with the Athens Stars Dr. Fuad Elhage, French and Spanish instructor in the Department of Romance Languages, is participating in the Dancing with the Athens Stars event in order to raise funds for Project Safe, an organization dedicated to helping women and children who have suffered domestic abuse. Italian Movie Night Series In its seventh year, our Italian Movie Night Series, which will start next week, February 24, is dedicated to Marcello Mastroianni, an internationally acclaimed Italian actor (1924-1996) whose career lasted more than fifty years.
